Adventuring in Oklahoma on Spring Break

Newly paved road on the hills.

After a good drive around Beavers Bend State Park on US Hwy 259, we spotted this newly paved road from further way. We thought the access to that area was closed, so we did not pay attention to it. But when we saw the dirt road entrance, I quickly turned and got on it to check the area out. It was a newly paved road to a new development. Looked new houses or cabins will be built on there.

The road was sloped. The photo didn’t do justice to how steep it looked from the top of the hill. I asked my husband if it’s okay for us to try to drive down. He was hesitant at first but when we were about to leave the area, he was like, “okay, let’s try it”. So we drove down and up. Darling daughter cried because of fright. She was like, “let’s not do that anymore”. It was cool! It was easy-peasy with the Subaru Outback. What an adventure.
