Places to Visit in Florida

With so many miles of stunningly beautiful serene beaches and seemingly endless sunshine, it is no wonder that Florida is the most visited U.S. state each of the past three years. Ninety-five million tourists a year discover the wealth of opportunities the sunshine state has to offer. Hundreds of golf courses and art museums, thousands of acres of parks, and more miles of trails than a person could hike in a year, are all part to the diversity of the state that draws visitors back for more.

Spring baseball comes to Florida every year, with teams from throughout the country joining some local teams to enjoy warm sunshine for training games. Fans of every major league sport can find teams in the state, from basketball to football, baseball to hockey, even major league soccer as well.

History abounds throughout the state. Sites of early settlements and native life are marked, as are many of the areas explored by the Spanish, English and other early Europeans, featured in museums, parks, educational tours and more. Families come to Florida for fun at major theme parks and adventure destinations of all sorts.

Nature lovers study birds, mammals, and reptiles that are unique to the area on tours and hikes. Boating and sailing, beachcombing, and exploring lighthouses are among some favorite activities pursued by visitors on vacation in Florida.
