Mini Vacation In Austin

It is my very first time coming to Austin.  So I am kind of excited to see what the city looks like.  As expected it is a busy place.  And because there are prestigious universities in Austin, there are college dorms and apartments in Downtown.  I was about to book a hotel in Downtown Austin but my dear husband said it doesn’t have to be in downtown.  So I looked and found a place we can stay during our mini vacation in Austin.  I booked a  room accommodation in Rodeway Inn-University.  It is located along I-35 and a mile or two from downtown.  We got a room rate of $79 per room per night for two nights.  The place is decent and affordable.  For out of town travelers who want a cheap hotel accommodation with continental breakfast, I recommend Rodeway Inn-University.

Ready to get cozy and relax.

The check-in time was 3:00 P.M..After the check-in, we drove around downtown and looked for a place to eat for dinner.  Because  I want to eat something heavy, we spotted a Panda Express on Airport Boulevard.  DD likes eating at Panda Express anyway.  DH bought a hamburger somewhere else.

And because it’s our first time to be in Austin, we drove around after dinner looking for restaurants to dine in with the next day.  We passed by an IHOP and a seafood restaurant.  We were very tired from the long drive.  We head back to the hotel and relaxed.

  1. Hotels that achieve the prestigious Platinum Award represent the top 3% of hotels within each Choice brand. The awards are based on a ranking system that measures guest satisfaction, product quality, room condition and cleanliness, and staff service. These properties have a proven track record of providing exceptional guest service and facilities.

  2. Family vacations are always fun, right? Especially when you get to discover new places together. 🙂
