I am still in awe that we already got our tickets. We’ll fly in December. Our vacation to the Philippines will be about four weeks. Though it’s not summer season when we go, it’s gonna be a holiday season. Christmas and New Year celebration in the Philippines to me is the best. You can feel the Christmas cheer as early as the month of September. Families begin planning for their holiday vacation early to avoid the rush.
What my husband and I have to do now is to plan the whole vacation itinerary. We only have four weeks to spend and we want to spend most of the time with my family in the province. Surely the first week of our vacation will be very hectic. We also want to ship the gifts early this year because we do not want to pay excess baggage charges. We learned our lesson from the previous vacation when we paid $120 in a domestic flight because our baggage exceeded. The charges are higher than the ticket price itself. That was ridiculous!
I already gathered gift items for my parents, siblings, niece, and nephews. My mother loves decorating our house especially the bed and bath. When I was there, I always helped press the bedsheets and linens. I know she needs new linens and sheets so shopping for new peacock alley bedding is a good idea. A high quality bedding set will last very long. She’d love this.
Our flight reservation for this year’s vacation is confirmed! Although the booking was not confirmed at the lowest ticket price that we originally reserved (which made me a little sad), the new rates worked out for us because we are fixed with the departure dates.
My husband went to the travel agency in Plano and got the tickets issued. He brought all our passports to present to the travel consultant because it is required to check and see all the information is correct and passports are valid fro travel. We enrolled my daughter for a SkyPass membership with Korean Air. I just had my name on the SkyPass card updated because in the record was my name when I was still single. Gladly I received my new card two days after I updated my information online.
As I remembered, we placed our flight booking early February. We waited for about four months for the confirmation. Actually, if we retained the cheaper ticket price, there’s a very low possibility for confirmation. Our travel consultant informed us that the airline will not guarantee selling the seats for that price. We had to choose. Paying an additional $300 on the total ticket price is worth it because we retained our dates for the upcoming vacation.
Now I am starting to get busy with gathering gifts for the family. And still saving for additional travel expenses too.
I am watching a romantic movie this evening about a couple visiting Italy. They are having a great time together. The couple is roaming in the city of Rome. They are staying in a hotel room with lots of paintings. You know, hotel rooms with lots of paintings looks creepy to me.
Anyway, in the movie the sweet couple is enjoying each other’s company. They are bar hopping, shopping, and even just loitering around the city. I just noticed in the movie revolves around the city-giving the viewers an idea of how Rome looks like. Seems to me that it’s very inviting to visit the city and have a tour. There are old buildings with unique address plaques. I kinda like the movie.
Rome is one of the romantic places to visit. And if you are patient enough, you can find cheap city tours online.
