Choctaw Grant

So we made it on a trip to Oklahoma Sunday as part of our 4th wedding anniversary celebration.  But, we went to Choctaw Casino Resort in Grant, Oklahoma.  That was not the original planned destination.  We were excited to go to Durant but hotel accommodation rates are way too high!  Imagine the hotel room rate is $295 a night.  Despite of our eagerness to be there, there was no way we will be availing that price.  That was more than triple of the price we usually pay for one night.

Well, we found out that there is a tournament going on the whole two weeks there-The World Series of Poker Tournament.  That makes sense.  Players from other parts of the world come to the event.  Of course, lots of spectators too.

Though resort we’ve been is a chain of the one we used to visit, the area is small.  There’s an outdoor heated pool and tub, which is not very convenient because the pool is located by the parking area.  No wall whatsoever.  Apartment pools are quite better because they’re inside the premises.  Anyway, we played for a few hours while my MIL was babysitting our little one.

The hotel room looked very nice though.  I liked the furniture and the bathroom.  There’s a spacious closet where my baby girl enjoyed playing with the sliding mirror.  She thought it was an elevator door. There is no wi-fi Internet but the hotel provides LAN cable free of charge.  Not much of food selection in the buffet restaurant but the food was good.

We were kinda guilty though because there was no other entertainment for kids besides the swimming pool, and we were not able to swim for the reason that it was breezy and cool Monday morning.  We only stayed overnight in the hotel.  So my baby girl did not get any recreation.  On our future travels, we will go to places that have amusement areas for kids.

Bridal Shower In Allen

It was simple Bridal Shower held on Saturday at the house of the bride-to-be’s stepmother in Allen.  My MIL and I thought the place is closer but it took us 40 minutes to get there. We were 15 minutes late because we left the house a bit later too.  Everybody was eating when we arrived.

Tiny Quiches

I think the quiche tastes good.  At first I thought it’s part of the dessert items when I saw them.  They’re kinda bite size which is pretty much appropriate to the party.

Bread and toppings

I forgot what’s it’s called.  I did not feel any interest to eat it because I don’t like the toppings and the bread is toasted.

Strawberries and grapes

I love strawberries.  Grapes?  Not much.  It is always ideal to have fruits served in every parties like Bridal Shower.

The bride-to-be's table

Here is the bride-to-be’s table displays the pastries of the party.

Dessert time!

Dessert is the most favorite part of the meal.  So here was my plate of sweets.

The motif of the Bridal Shower was blue.  So most of the decor has shades of blue in them and the party supplies are blue, too.  Almost all of her gifts are from the Wedding Registry that she and her fiance made at Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond.

Job Efficiency In A Restaurant

When we were on a trip to Tyler, my husband’s parents took us Shogun Restaurant.  It is not a big of a place but sure it has customers.  The staff cooks the food you ordered right in front of you.  That’s really cool because you got to see the ingredients, spices, and stuff.  The cooks also do tricks while cooking.

All the utensils the cooks need for cooking the food are available close to their reach.  The spice rack is full of different kinds of herbs and spices.  Their hands are quick.  As soon as they finished cooking the food, the order is directly placed in the customer’s plate.  Smoking hot!

Having small spice racks close by is very convenient to these cooks in a restaurant.  In addition to their fast moves in cooking, they already what spice to get because of the properly organized kitchen spice racks.  It also adds to their efficiency in the job.
