I get worried whenever typhoons hit the Philippines. Everything is wide affected…the basic commodities, communication, electricity, transportation, and even safety.
I received a message from my family back home in Leyte that there are plenty of damaged homes in our neighborhood. Floods are all over the place that hugely damaged the crops and rice fields. The people ran for cover to the Municipal Gym and nearest schools in town. There was a major black-out too. The bad thing was a branch from a tree in our backyard fell on the kitchen part of our house. I am so sad about it. But I am extremely thankful because everybody is safe.

The news said that the typhoon packed sustained winds of 88 miles per hour and gusts of up to 106 mph when it made landfall near the southern tip of Samar Island, southeast of Manila, late Friday.
