Best Gym Clothes

a-fitness ball

Women appear to be more fashion conscious than men when going to the gym. It’s not a bad thing by any means. Who knows what love interest you might attract at the gym. But seriously, to get the most out of your workout, you have to dress wisely. You can still dress stylishly but your attire should offer comfort and easy movement, and should enable your sweat to dry up quickly. With Groupon Coupons you can get flattering but wise gym wear and make incredible savings at the same time.  Buckle has a whole range of sportswear to kit you up from top to toe, so head on over and don’t forget your coupons.

Light-weight, easy fitting vests are ideal for both men and women, but if they emphasize the belly and make you feel too self-conscious to properly work on those abs or much less anything else, stick to the more loose fitting and traditional t-shirts.  Underneath the vest, or t-shirt, women should wear good-fitting sports bras. But look for those that allow in air so sweat can evaporate quickly. When you start to get fit and confident there’s absolutely nothing wrong with throwing off the top cover and exercising in the sports bra or tank top.

Loose fitting shorts always work well for men as they allow them to perform all the range of motions in comfort. Stretchy short pants or mid length pants are great for women. They don’t constrict and they allow sweat build up to dry up very quickly.  In winter, when the muscles need to be kept warm, track bottoms are good for men and leggings for women. Avoid wearing jeans to the gym, even if they are stretch jeans, because they make you sweat more and you don’t dry up as quickly.

Trainers are ideal gym footwear for both men and women and there are so many good looking types available at Buckle, but just make sure they fit well before you purchase them. Cross trainers are even better as you can use them at the gym and for walking and running. Non-gym shoes like sandals should be avoided as they may result in injury.

Both men and women should limit accessories to head or wrist sweat bands. Even watches are acceptable. But avoid jewelry of any sort including earrings as they could be dangerous.

Although easy-fitting gym wear allows in more air and enables it to circulate quickly during a gym session, avoid clothing that is too loose fitting. It’s as unflattering to your figure as clothing that’s too tight, and if it constantly has to be adjusted, it causes distractions that you can do without.

Psych Up for Your Cycling Adventure

If you’ve planned a bike tour, you are probably psyched up to hit the road, but you’ll need to take some time to get ready. It takes approximately 12 weeks to get in optimum physical shape, so you can ride the roads easily during your trip. During those pre-journey weeks, you’ll need to commit to a weekly training schedule, eat the right foods, get enough rest, and gather your gear. Before you leave, you want to be rested, fit, and packed to go.

Plan to ride four days a week during your three months of pre-tour training. The length of your rides will depend on the intensity of your upcoming tour. If you will be riding 60 to 80 miles per day on your bike adventure, you’ll need to log more training miles than if you signed up for a moderate tour with 30 to 40 mile days. You should also cross train two days per week, and include exercises that will strengthen your core, such as planks, crunches, lateral squats, and lunges. One day per week should be devoted to rest, so your body can recover between workouts. With all that training, you’ll need to stay hydrated and consume foods and beverages containing sodium and electrolytes to replace what you lose through sweating.

There’s a lot of prep to be done before you hit the road, but it will be worth it! For more information on getting ready for your adventure, take a look at this infographic.

DIY Cut Out T-shirts

Every woman know how valuable it is to have a good supply of 100% polyester T-shirts in her closet. They are versatile, inexpensive and can be modified in lots of different ways to create unique looks. One popular fashion trend are cutout T-shirts, which feature all sorts of designs or strategically placed cuts to enhance the simple silhouette. If you want to try your hand at an easy cutout project, this one is perfect. We’ll create a heart shape that can look different depending on the color of undershirt you choose.

Supplies

Gather these up on a large working surface before you get started:

  • Oversize T-shirt in the color of your choice.
  • Small pair of scissors for detail work
  • Chalk in color that can easily be seen

Setup

OK, you are going to be doing a little bit of drawing here. Don’t be nervous! This is just elementary school-level artwork. Lay the T-shirt flat on your work surface. Using the chalk, draw a medium-size heart in the middle of the chest area. Make sure to leave enough room for the “rays” coming off the heart. Don’t worry if your heart is not completely centered or if it’s a little crooked. The design will look good no matter what.

Drawing

Now, using the heart outline as your baseline, draw rudimentary rays or flames coming off of it all the way around. The rays should be smaller around the top of the heart where they are closest to the collar and larger around the sides and bottom of the heart. Don’t go too big, though, or you will end up with cutouts that go all the way into your armpits!

Cut

It’s time to cut out the rays. Do not cut out the heart shape. Using your small scissors, slowly make your way around the heart, cutting out all the rays you drew. It’s all right if you don’t cut exactly on the chalk lines. Any lines left on the shirt will come out in the wash. Try to make your cuts as smooth as possible to avoid jagged edges that may be visible when you wear the shirt. The cut edges will curl a bit, especially after the shirt is washed, so that will help hide uneven cuts you may have made.

You’re Done!

Now you can wear this cute shirt with any color underneath. When you are ready, you can try other cutout designs. Here are some ideas:

  • Cut a double wing design out of the back of a T-shirt
  • Skulls cut out of the front or back of a shirt is a rock ‘n’ roll look
  • Snip the sides of the T-shirt from the arm hole down to create a corset look

Salary Comparison Between Male and Female Professional Athletes

I don’t have any favorite sports but I highly admire athletes who are very passionate in their field of sports.  They work very hard to achieve success in their careers.  The pride of performing very well is the first important thing.  Winning the competition is second.  “It’s not about winning or losing, it is how you play the game”, they say.  But if you take a chance getting an Adelphi Sports Management Online Masters Degree, you will understand how the athletes work and who they are compensated.
