Traveling To Seek Treatment

Many people travel to seek medical treatment for their illness.  Especially those whose medical condition is critical.  There are hospitals in some countries that do not have state-of-the-art medical equipment to treat uncommon illness that is life-threatening.  Also, high technology equipment is needed to treat infertility in men and women.

There are also types of medical issues that are very sensitive to discuss.  Like the ability of a woman to bear a child even in her 40s.  To me, it is considered as a very high risk age to get pregnant.  The egg cell count is getting low and menopausal symptoms are beginning to show.  Although there are couples in their 40s still want to bear a child, pregnancy after 40 is 50/50 chance.

One of the good things that technology in the medical field is hugely recognized and proven effective is the what they call test tube babies.  This happen by taking one sperm cell and an egg donation from a woman.  A very critical procedure but successfully done.  The first successful test tube baby was in 1978.  Couples do  not have to travel to pursue this method if there is a laboratory located in the place where they reside.

Medical issue, woman’s health, and other health concerns are well-taken care of if we, the patients, will cooperate and become aware of our health status.

Made It Home Without The GPS

I went to see my doctor today.  I did not bring my daughter because the weather forecast said there’s 80% chances of rain Tuesday and Wednesday.  It would be inconvenient to take her with me to the doctor’s office while it’s raining.

You see, I am confident driving in heavy rains.  I have done that before but if there is someone who can take care of my baby while I am on the road, I will be worry-free.  Hubby came home from work to take care of baby while I was gone.

I took US380 to McKinney.  Thirty minutes is a long drive to me.  The purpose of meeting my OB-Gyn is to consult about family planning.  Hubby and I agreed to only have one child.  My doctor explained many things but she asked me three times.  Do I really want to do it?  I answered yes.

Going home, I took a different route.  Instead of going back to US380, I took the back roads going to Wylie.  Without the cheap GPS I bought from a friend, I tried using my memory for familiar signs and turns.  And I did it despite of a bad weather!

Like I Am Possessed Or Something

‘Glad I feel better now. I am not miserable about dripping nose and watery eyes anymore. It was terrible because my sinusitis was acting up. Though my cold was gone, still having a coarse voice…like I am possessed or something. But I am trying to sound normal whenever I answer calls or even make pages and announcements. *Sigh*. I am really happy that I am over with the cold. Me getting this is once in a blue moon you know. But when it hits me, it’s terrible. That is why I make a habit of drinking a lot of water and fruit juice. Plus a good rest and enough sleep help the body maintain it’s strong resistance.

My co-associates are happy that I feel better now. Thanks God.
