I mentioned a week ago that my darling daughter and I were visiting her grandparents this weekend.  And my my mother-in-law invited us to go to see the Rose Queen and her court today.  It was a very pleasant weekend at the Rose Festival in Tyler, Texas.  This special event is held annually.  And the festival’s theme varies every year.  According to the city’s paper, this year’s theme is Cirque de la Rose showcasing the things you see in a circus.  The Rose Queen and the Duchesses were wearing their lavishing costume gowns.  They’re all beautiful and stunning.

I took pictures of my darling daughter posing with the Rose Queen and the Duchesses.  I am sharing with you a few of them.  We had fun today.  The Rose Festival in Tyler is an event that I want to see every year.

Driving All The Way

Our family is out of town for the weekend.  We are visiting over my husband’s parents.  Before we left, I took our little girl to the library this morning for Story Time session.  The public library in Wylie offers Story Time for infants and families.  The sessions are every Wednesday at 9:00 A.M, and Fridays at 11:30 A.M.  It is nice because the public library is doing this for free.

After spending an hour at the library, I took my daughter to the mall to play in the play place.  I thought she will enjoy playing with other kids before we head to see her grandparents.  And she did!  We drove home at about 2:30 P.M. because I received a call from my husband that he will be on his way home at 3 to help me prepare for the trip.

I was the one who drove all the way to Tyler  this evening.  Driving 75 mph or 120 kph did not make me nervous at all.  I used the Cruise Control so my right foot could rest for a few minutes.  Of course, I was very watchful because I was passing huge trailer trucks.  We arrived Tyler at 8:30 P.M. and the folks are happy to see baby.

Beauty And The Beast Tour In Tyler

It’s girls night out this evening with my MIL, SIL and her daughter.  My MIL bought me a ticket to the Beauty And The Beast theater play held at the Cowan Center in University of Texas at Tyler.  We’ve never been there before until tonight.  University of Texas is one of the prestigious college university in Texas.  And the Cowan Center has been the venue of theatrical and musical plays in Tyler for years.

This is the second time I watched a theater play.  It was during my college days when I saw one.  It was a Shakespeare’s play called “The Taming of the Shrew”.  Watching the play was a requirement in our Literature class.  Then we had make and submit a synopsis.

I have seen Beauty And The Beast movie more often because my niece and nephews loved to watch animated movies.  And watching the whole story played live is a great experience to me.  I love the props and the performers.  My two favorite scenes were they sing with Gaston, and the welcoming of Belle in the castle singing “Be Our Guest”.  So extravagant!

Cameras off because taking pictures during the show is not allowed.  But we all had a wonderful time.
