After the frustrating drive on Toll Road 130 from Austin to Seguin, we arrived in San Antonio safe and sound. Got us checked in the hotel though we still waited for a room to be available (please note that the check in time was after 3:00 P.M. and we arrived at 4:50 P.M.). Hotels get very busy in summertime. So I understand why they’re behind with housekeeping and stuff sometimes. They gave us free upgrade to an Executive Suite.
The room upgrade was nice. The living area is separated by a glass door from the bedroom in the Executive Suite. In short, more space in the room. Two televisions are working great. The only thing I didn’t like is that, the room doesn’t smell good. It has an old carpet smell. I had to spray a perfume around. I made a review on the hotel’s site so I hope they will do something about it.
We were so tired from the travel so we relaxed for a while in the room and talked about what we’ll gonna do and where we want to eat for dinner. We agreed to go to Guadalajara Grill. My dear husband and I were here five years ago and we’re back again. They’re food’s really good. When you visit San Antonio, dine in at Guadalajara Grill. I highly recommend their Molcajete. It’s delicious!
After dinner, we strolled on the Riverwalk for a while. It was nice to be back in San Antonio. I liked it there. It feels like home to me – Downtown that is. The next was a busy day because we went to Sea World.
It is agreed and finalized. We are going back to Schlitterbahn. But this time, we are going to the one in New Braunfels, Texas. My darling daughter has been telling me that she wants to go back to the waterpark where there’s a big river pool that goes around and there are children slides by the big pirate ship. So I figured she remembered our visit to Schlitterbahn in Galveston Island and wants to go back there. I told her we are going to the same waterpark this summer but in the different location. And it will be in the next few weeks. 🙂
We decided to have our summer vacation this month because it’s not that very hot. We do not want to go later in the summer because the heat is too unbearable. You know how hot summer in Texas is.
So after this getaway what are we going to do next? Well, there are many activities we can do in the summer months and most of them are outdoors. I am planning to enroll my daughter in a swimming class or dance class when we get back from our mini-vacation. These are a few things we look forward to.
Aug. 6 – It’s Water Park day. We got to visit and experience Schlitterbahn in Galveston Island, Texas. I think it was our favorite part besides the beach day during our family vacation in Galveston. It was very enjoyable in the water. There were so much interaction and fun rides, too. Darling daughter spent most of the time in the Torrent beach for kids. There were slides that she really enjoyed in the Torrent beach for kids.
We also tried the Loopy Luge and the Guada Loopy. Oh how fun it was sliding down the huge swirly tubes. DD and I did it I think four times. 🙂 It was a high climb on the stairs to the rides though. But as soon as we sat down and get situated in the inflatable floats, the thrill begins. Then I challenged myself to try one of the highest and popular slide in Schlitterbahn. The Rohr! I didn’t try the Fust ‘N Furious. It was way to high for me. I was screaming my heart out while I was sliding down in that blue tube. Lol!
My dear husband challenged me to try the Rohr!. I told him that’s enough for me. I don’t want to have a heart attack. Hahaha! It was thrilling and fun.
What’s great about being there is that, you can bring your own food. There’s a picnic area where you can rest and eat. I liked that a lot.
