The Trip To OK

It was great to hear from my cousin Emz again. She called me this morning and we talked over the phone for 45 minutes…almost an hour. Gosh! Emz was excited about their trip to Oklahoma yesterday. Her husband drove all the way back and forth because she does not know how to drive yet. They passed by the bridge over the Red River (Oklahoma-Texas border). I asked if she saw some beautiful scenery along the way to their destination. She said yes.

Boy, just the thought of it makes me want to go there again. It is a long drive but it is fun. I thought of going back to Oklahoma again some time soon.

Anyway, Emz and her husband had the fun of taking pictures at the Welcome Centers of Oklahoma and Texas. They got some souvenirs too. Like me, she likes traveling. I am happy that Emz is getting adjusted to Texas weather and environment.

Joined The Highway Rush

It was Friday night. I was glad I did not have to work closing. I got out 6:10 and I hurried to the dock to clock out. My honey and I headed to our friend June’s house in Plano after work. She invited us a couple of days ago. Since it has been awhile when we went to see her and her family, we decided to come over there. My honey bought a cake for the potluck.

On our way to Plano, we joined the highway rush. Cars, trucks were rushing on the busy Interstate Highway to reach their destinations. I like traveling at night. But in rush hours on Friday nights, it is somewhat stressful with the packed traffic. Anyway, we made it safe to June’s house. We mingled with some Filipino friends too. It was a wonderful evening. We arrived home safely with happy smiles.

Enjoying The Holiday Travel

After the training for the part time job my honey and I got ourselves ready to head to his parent’s house Tuesday evening for the Thanksgiving on Thursday. We left Fort Worth about 8:44 P.M. Our speed was 60-65 miles per hour (following speed limit) on I-20 heading East Texas. The Interstate Highway was busy. Everybody was traveling to where they will spend the Thanksgiving holiday. Huge trucks were on their way to delivery duties. But when we entered the City of Canton, the highway was ours.
Looking outside for the view, bright road and commercial lights made me recall of the bright nights in the city back home. My honey noticed that I was about to be hypnotized by looking straight on the road, he said he will get the reserved pillow from the back seat for me. I said, “I am okay hon.” I refused to take a nap. I was enjoying the night travel on the road. Our drive to Tyler was smooth and safe. We arrived 10:56 P.M.
