I went to a party in Plano yesterday. A friend invited me to a baby shower of her friend’s stepdaughter. I don’t mind driving far as long as I have permission from my dear husband. I always tell him where I am going so he won’t be wondering. He had let me drive the truck because I did not take along our darling daughter with me.
I feel confident driving the truck. Though it’s a big vehicle for me to maneuver, I find it easy to drive. I just have to adjust the seat and I put a square pillow under me and my back. The purpose of these pillows is to get me a little higher on the seat and my back straight while driving. Even in my own car, I put pillows on my seat because I am short.
Driving to the party took me 50 minutes because of the road repairs and stuff. Catching a green light was not that often. The host’s house is close to my cousin’s apartment before. So the area is quite familiar to me. I saw a few friends there at the party. We had fun catching up and eating good food. Of course, camera flashes everywhere. 🙂
This afternoon, I joined the Mother’s Day BBQ party with friends held in Royse City, Texas. One of the girl friends just moved in Royse City few months ago and she hosted the Mother’s Day BBQ party. Everyone brought something to grill – pork, beef, and seafood. As usual, there are lots of food.
Mother’s Day Party Feast
Oooh, dessert. 🙂
Whenever girls get together, we talk a lot. But when we started eating these delicious foods, we got quiet for a while. 🙂
On the other hand, one of our friend said there will be an Asian Festival in Dallas this coming Saturday, May 18. I haven’t been to festivals since I got here in the US and I don’t know how to go to Dallas by myself. The event is going to be held in Downtown Dallas so lots of one-way streets. I want to go. Hopefully, my husband will let me.
It’s my FIL’s (father-in-law) birthday Thursday. Supposedly we will be visiting him and mom this weekend but they called saying they are not feeling well. This change of weather makes everybody feel weird. Cool and breezy days bring allergies too.
Since we did not have anything planned, I got to attend the Halloween Party at a friend’s house in Frisco last night. Everyone was in their Halloween costume except me. I was wearing a tangerine dress (pumpkin color), denim jacket, and a blue headband. It’s my first time to attend a Halloween Party. It was really fun and lots of picture-taking.
Halloween Party 2012
The party started at 7:00 P.M. Because my friend and I arrived at the party at about 8:30 P.M., we decided to stay a bit longer. It was fun. Thanks to the beautiful sailor host. Our sweat glands served their function when we danced on Xbox 360. Got our hearts pumpin’ a little. Hahaha!
Having fun dancing.
We’re on the move.
After the action, we all went back to the kitchen and ate…again.
pasta, veggies, pork, chicken dishes
pork barbeque, salad, dessert
Good food, good friends, great party!
If you are having a small simple all-girls party, I recommend the Chocolate Angel Cafe in Richardson, Texas to be the place for the special event.
Located in 635 West Campbell Road #310 Richardson, Texas the cafe is the perfect venue for a small gathering like birthday, luncheon, and tea parties. They mainly offer pastries like cookies, cakes, and brownies. But they also serve entrees. The staff is friendly and attentive. To-go orders are also entertained.
My sisters-in-law busy preparing for the party
I mentioned here that there’s a special occasion-my husband’s niece wedding. Aside from the bridal shower thrown few weeks ago, we hosted a special luncheon for her and her bridesmaids. It was a nice party and the bride was very happy. My sister-in-law thought Chocolate Angel Cafe is perfect for the event. And it was.
A huge plate of fruit and chicken salad
For dessert, is a big slice of chocolate fudge cake. Yummy!
My in-laws and I were satisfied because the luncheon went great. We made the bride feel very special on her big day. One thing is for sure, I will be coming back to Chocolate Angel Cafe. If not for a party, it will be for a special family treat.
