It’s that time of the year again–car registration renewal is due this month. Good thing I saw the registration sticker on dear husband’s car windshield when I was wiping it dry after giving it a good wash.
I was supposed to take his car to the auto shop two weeks ago but dear husband said he’s taking it there himself for state inspection since the registration is due. Also, because the car is over 5 years old, it needed a brake check. He had to leave the car at the auto shop overnight for these important inspections.
It is very important that we keep track of our vehicle’s registration every year to avoid penalties. The Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) in all states sends reminders in the mail when your vehicle registration is about to expire. We must renew it as soon as possible. In compliance to the law, our vehicles must be inspected before submitting the required registration renewal documents to the agency. State inspections are required so you need to send your vehicles to an auto shop authorized by your state to inspect your cars. Emissions, steering, wheel alignment, and vehicle and owner identification are a few of the things to “test”.
When you are at an auto shop you will definitely notice sets of equipment used by auto mechanics in tending cars. BendPak car lift, car jacks, wheel wrenches…etc. are some of them. It amazes me how these equipment and tools play a big role in helping our auto mechanics do their jobs with ease. Just imagine what types of automotive lifts they use back in the olden days.
Anyhow, pay attention to your vehicle registration expiration dates. Check that windshield sticker if you haven’t looked at it yet recently. You never know, yours will expire this month. 🙂
