What Are Your Travel Goals?

Hello, friends!  Happy New year!  How was you New Years?  As for me, we celebrated at home with lots of fireworks.  My dear husband invited some of his colleagues and they brought fireworks, too.  It was a great celebration, as usual, but this time it’s more sentimental.  I mean, in addition to the New Year’s, we were also celebrating all the luck in the world. It was so big deal for us because, from that huge calamity that hit some towns in Texas, we were not affected.  I hope you had a wonderful New Year celebration, too.

Anyway, one of the things we’re thankful for is that our vacation to the Philippines in Spring is finalized though I am not completely happy because my dear husband is not going with us on this trip.  But this vacation is very important because my darling daughter will be spending time with my side of the family.  As you know, my parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews live in the Philippines.  I haven’t petitioned one of my parents yet to come over to the US.  Hopefully when my application for naturalization gets approved, I will be able to petition them this year.  This is one of my priority goals in 2016.

How about you? What are your travel goals this year?

  1. I have only heard wonderful things about the Philippines. I would love to go one day. As for 2016, my biggest travel goal is to go to Manhattan, and spend a little time there.

  2. I had a quiet NYE with friends going out to dinner. I’m trying to make it to Austin, TX this year to visit a friend that moved there in summer. That and LA are on my calendar this year.

  3. I love going on vacation. Its the best thrill for me. This year I plan to travel from NYC (home) to Barcelona and Dubai this year. I am super excited.

  4. Sometimes I get into a rut of thinking that traveling has to be big and far away, but this isn’t usually an option. We just bought a house and I’m looking for a new job, so we don’t have the money or stability to plan a big vacation right now. Instead my goals for the year are to visit new places nearby. I live in San Francisco and we’ve got a lot of stuff within driving distance (Napa Valley, Tahoe, LA). Getting to all those nearby spots are on my list for this year!

  5. After being a serial entrepreneur for many years, I didn’t allow myself (or my family to take a vacation other than mini day trips in our area. Last year I decided it was time to make a change. We started collecting our pocket change into a vacation fund. So, whenever we bought something and ended up with less than a dollar in change we put it into a jar and when the jar became filled deposited it into a vacation account. In six months time, from saving pocket change alone, we had collected over $2500, so decided to take a family vacation and drive from Wisconsin to Pensacola, FL and enjoy the gulf for a week. It was the greatest adventure and one we hope to duplicate every year from now on.

    1. Wow, Craig. That’s a great amount of money saved for travel. We do collect our pocket change, too. We allot those to our casino trip fund. 🙂 And yes, saving money for travel is very good habit. Thumbs up to you, sir.
