A Tour At The Texas State Capitol In Austin

Our mini vacation in Austin was very enjoyable because we were able to go to a cavern tour in Georgetown, Texas.  We also visited the Austin Capitol.  We were able to go inside and tour the beautiful historic building.  I guess they do it on weekdays.

We got to see portraits of the Texas Governors displayed on every floor of the building.  We also got the chance to go inside the House of Representatives.  On that day, there’s a school activity going on and DD was trying to be a part of the event.  When the students raised their hands (I guess to ask questions to the guest speaker), DD raised her hand too.

It’s really amazing how huge and beautiful Austin Capitol is.  The architecture and structures are remarkable.  There are monuments in front of the capitol honoring the heroes and people how made great contributions to building Texas and gaining it’s freedom.

It was a wonderful day and the weather was nice.  We took a few pictures as remembrance that we’ve been in Austin.  After touring, we decided to check out the Fresh Beat Band concert venue which is at the ACL (Austin City Limits Moody Theatre) located at West Willie Nelson Street in Downtown Austin.  So drove around Downtown.  As we were approaching the place, we noticed some canopies along West 2nd Street.  I remember that there will be a  Formula One Grand Prix the next day.  Maybe that’s what they’re for.

So we found the concert venue and we head back to the hotel to relax and get ready for the next itinerary – The Fresh Beat Band concert at 6:00 P.M.
