The Travel Budget Should Increase

Let’s admit it that besides saving money for our kids’ education, future business ventures, and emergency purposes, we are also saving money for recreation, entertainment, and traveling.  Correct?  Lots of priorities but sometimes we forget to treat ourselves to a getaway.

My husband and I do save for future travel plans.  In fact, we are now starting to build up our travel savings because we are now planning our next vacation to the Philippines in two years.  Although it’s still far ahead, we want to have something to look forward to so there’s a motivation for us to save money as much as we can from the pay check.  Although I am a full-time stay-at-home-mom and wife, I still manage to make money by selling online unused and pre-owned stuff.  I started selling online four years ago.  My husband understands why I do this because I want to help saving for our travel funds.  As years pass by, plane ticket rates are getting higher and higher.  The food prices keep going up.  The travel budget we had two years ago should at least increase by half.  Am I feeling the pressure already?  As much as possible, I don’t want to feel stressed by this.

It is hard to find money nowadays where employment competition is high.  I want to look for a job and go back to work but I have to stay home full time until my darling daughter goes to school.  My darling husband is a good provider and a responsible father.  Hence, I will stick to making money online right now.

Hopefully, we will be able to reach our travel budget savings goal before the vacation time comes.  We will not go during the peak season next time.  Oh no!  Summer is peak season!  Now we might have a problem.

  1. There’s so much things listed in our bucket-lists. And the best thing to achieve all of those is to find ways on how to have an additional income.

  2. i’m also saving for travel but sometimes the fund is used in an important thing that’s why the travel was always postponed .. hope this year it won’t

  3. I always wanted to sell online but so apprehensive to start. I am thinking of doing ebay or any auction sites. Thanks for sharing.

  4. definitely! If the income allows, a savings for travel and vacation would be a great additional to the budget list. Unfortunately to many, it is not common. I so agree with you about earning online. Thanks to the Internet really for giving stay at home moms the opportunity to still earn while looking after the household and the kids.

  5. I know what you mean, we also love to travel so we do plan ahead and set aside money for the travel fund. This summer we will be going to The Netherlands and I am sure it would be costly – I am glad we prepared for it well.

  6. Okay so not sure if my first comment got through.. But just in case it didn’t, here I go again. 🙂

I hope you reach your savings goal in time. I’m sure you will, just have faith and think positive! 🙂

  7. I hope that you reach your savings goal on time, and I’m sure you will! 🙂 Just think positive. 🙂

The hubby and I always try to save, but like you said, times are hard, so it’s quite impossible for us to save with 2 kids in school now. 😛 But perhaps one day soon, we’ll actually be able to save up and have a vacation somewhere out of the country. 🙂
