Man, it’s August already!  My husband and I were talking at dinner time about our upcoming vacation.  We’re kinda surprised because it’s August and we haven’t done anything yet as to travel preparation is concern.  We have to start gathering our things together.

As I was looking for luggage online, I thought of looking for new watch.  The wristwatch I bought two years ago gave up.  Well, it needs new battery.  But I want a new one.  I am surfing for diamond watches.  Who knows, we will be going on a cruise soon and a diamond watch is a perfect accessory for me to wear on the ship.

About our upcoming trip, I actually started wrapping gifts for Christmas to ship next month to my family back home.

The Great Texas Balloon Race Event In Longview, Texas

Last weekend our family went to Tyler for a visit to my parents-in-law.  My husband’s dad invited us to the The Great Texas Balloon Race U.S. National Championships in Longview, Texas on July 28.  The event was held at the East Texas Regional Airport. One of the major sponsors is  Wells Fargo.  Since they are account holders in the bank, they were given VIP passes for four guests.

I have been to big events like this but not in a Hot Air Balloon Show.  Although we missed the Sport Balloon “Key Grab” and the Special Shape Balloon “Key Grab” Competition because we did not leave the house until 11:00 A.M., we were able to see the Sport Balloon and the Special Shape Balloon Glow.

Wells Fargo Advisors tent opened at 3:00 P.M. but they served food and drinks at 6:00 P.M.  They served BBQ Sandwich with lots and lots of drinks!  It was very hot (triple digit temperature) that Saturday evening.  They provided huge fans for air.  When we finished eating, we headed out to the event grounds and watched the show.  There were exhibits, kids land play area, shops, concert, and fiesta carnival.  We did not stay for the concert because it was passed baby’s bedtime and we were very tired from the heat.

Niece’s Wedding

Summer is wedding season too.  My husband’s niece got married last month and we were all invited.  It was a big event for her because all the family were there to witness the special day.  We are very happy for my husband’s niece.  She and her groom are very in love.  When they got engaged, the she received a very gorgeous engagement ring.  Their wedding bands are beautiful.  It was a lovely wedding to remember.

But planning a wedding is not that easy.  Venue is one of the most important thing to be finalized a head of time.  And if you are clever enough, you will be able to find a wedding venue with a reception area.  Everyone does not have to drive a long way from the church or chapel to the reception like restaurants or private venue.

The couple went to Dominican Republic for their 7-day honeymoon and escapade.  I am jealous, I admit.  Hopefully, my husband and I will be able to afford a vacation to the Carribean for our second honeymoon.
