Field Trip

A field trip is one of the school’s extra curricular activities that allows students to explore nature, to enhance social skills, and to learn more about history.  Places like museums, zoo, economic zones, theme parks and national parks are very interesting to visit.

When I was an elementary student, my school organizes field trips or tour.  Because the school has a huge student population, sometimes the tours are grouped according to year levels.  The trip organizers get car rental services for transportation.  And, sometimes, they provide pack lunches for everyone.  The student pays the trip contribution that include transportation, food, and entrance fees.  I remember we went to Rizal Shrine (Luneta) located in the heart of Manila.  It is one of the famous National Park in the Philippines in honor of our National Hero, Dr. Jose P. Rizal.

I enjoyed seeing the animals at the zoo and playing at the playground in the park.  I also remember we went to Intramuros, also known as the Walled City, in Manila.  We visited Fort Santiago where Rizal was imprisoned during his captivity by the Spaniards.  These are only a few of the interesting tourist spots in the Philippines. Schools back home are still encouraging field trips.

If you are planning to have a vacation in my country, do not forget to see Luneta, Intramuros, and the Manila Zoo.
