I am learning how to cook and I am enjoying it. One of my favorite sea foods that I like to cook is the Tilapia fish. We usually fry them at home with matching soy sauce, tomatoes, and onions. Then we eat them with steamed rice. But here’s a recipe that I tried recently. It is called Baked Tilapia with Broccoli…of course in my own version.
Ingredients
4 tilapia fillets
1/2 teaspoon garlic salt to taste
1 pack frozen broccoli or mixed vegetables you like
Ranch dressing
1 tablespoon of lime juice
1/4 cup chopped sweet onion
Directions
1. Preheat over to 375 degrees F.
2. Place tilapia fillets in a greased 9×13 baking dish.
3. Spread the lemon juice evenly on each tilapia.
4. Spread ranch dressing on each tilapia-as thin or as thick as you like.
5. Sprinkle onion bits.
6. Arrange the frozen broccoli or mixed vegetables around the fish.
and season lightly with the garlic salt.
8. Cover dish and bake for 25 to 30 minutes in the preheated oven
until the vegetables are tender and fish flakes easily with a fork.
Study shows that baked fish is better than fried. Because of the natural ingredients and nutritious health benefits of my own version of Baked Tilapia with Broccoli, I think this will become the contender in the upcoming Great American Seafood Cook off this coming August, one of America’s most prestigious culinary competitions. I would be very proud of myself if given the chance to join this competition. The goal of the competition is to pay recognition to the positiveness of domestic seafood sustainability. Meaning, local products like seafood is given importance in cooking. Aside from good health benefits, they are local and fresh. It is pretty exciting. Getting a trophy from the Cook off is a great recognition for me. By the way, if you have any recipe suggestions or comments about my Baked Tilapia with Broccoli, feel free to let me know about your opinions here. I would highly appreciate it.
